GOC SOUTHERN COMMAND VISITS AIR FORCE BASE TAKORADI

The General Officer Commanding (GOC) Southern Command, Brigadier General (Brig Gen) Samuel Yeboah Asare has visited the Air Force Base Takoradi. The GOC who was on a three-day working visit to the 2 Infantry Battalion took the opportunity to visit the Base and commiserate with them on the loss of the Base Commander, Air Commodore GS Parker.  

 

 

In her welcome remarks, the Commander Flying Group, Group Captain Selase Yaya Agbenyefia expressed gratitude to the GOC for his visit and later gave a short brief on the operations and administrative state of the Base.

 

 

On his part, Brig Gen Asare thanked the Commander for the warm reception and expressed his condolences on the demise of the late Base Commander. He further mentioned that his visit to the Units was to afford him a first-hand insight into their progress and challenges. He also on behalf of the Units, took the opportunity to sign the book of condolences opened for the late Base Commander.

 

 

There were also discussions between the two Commanders on future collaborative efforts that would enhance the operations of both Commands.

 

 

The Commander Flying Group as a sign of appreciation presented a plaque to the GOC on the occasion of his maiden visit to the Base. The GOC was accompanied by the Commanding Officer of the 2 Infantry Battalion, Lt Col Daniel Atobrah Bondah, and some Senior Officers of the Garrison.
