DRILL AND DUTIES AND BASIC MILITARY POLICE COURSE BEGINS

The opening ceremony of the Drill and Duties and Basic Military Police Course 1/2024 has been held at the Air Force Recruit Training School (AFRTS) in Takoradi on Wednesday 13 March 2024. 

 

 

Aimed at preparing participants with the requisite knowledge to assist in training and administration at the various units, the course, scheduled to run for a period of 12- weeks comprises a total of 86 participants with 19 from the Ghana Army and 7 from the Ghana Navy.

 

 

The Guest of Honour for the ceremony, Commander, Air Force Training Command (AFTRAC), Air Commodore (Air Cdre) Mathias Awuah in his address conveyed the compliments from the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal FAK Bekoe.

 

 

 He noted that this was the second time the Air Force was organising the course and this time with representatives from the various services. This he said was a testament of the collaboration among the Services and advised the participants to embrace the diversity of skills, experiences and perspectives from each arm of Service.

 

 

Air Cdre Awuah further charged the students to take their physical training seriously as it would play a role in their success. He also advised them to uphold the highest standards of training, avoid complacency and be diligent in every task. He also thanked the instructors and mentors for their invaluable dedication, guidance and devotion to the development of the participants.

 

 

 

In his welcome remarks, the Commanding Officer of the Training School, Wing Commander NS Naab welcomed the participants and urged them to take the course seriously to derive the maximum benefits.

 

 

The course which is an initiative of the Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Vice Marshal Frederick Asare Kwesi Bekoe falls in line with his vision to modernise and transform the Ghana Air Force into a SMART Air Force.
