The Defence Attaché of Italy, Colonel Davide Rosellini, paid a visit to the Air Force Headquarters on Thursday, 24 September 2026, as part of efforts to strengthen defence relations and explore potential areas of cooperation between the Ghana Air Force (GHAF) and the Italian Armed Forces.

Colonel Rosellini, who is based in Abuja and accredited to Ghana, was received by the Acting Chief of the Air Staff, Air Commodore Elvis King Arneson.

During their interaction, Air Commodore Arneson acknowledged the longstanding defence relationship between Ghana and Italy and expressed the GHAF’s interest in further strengthening cooperation in areas of mutual benefit.

The discussions focused broadly on opportunities for training, professional development and capacity building aimed at enhancing the capabilities of personnel and promoting greater cooperation between the two Armed Forces.

Air Commodore Arneson noted the importance of international defence partnerships in promoting knowledge sharing, professional development and the exchange of expertise.

For his part, Colonel Rosellini expressed appreciation for the warm reception and reaffirmed Italy’s commitment to maintaining cordial defence relations with Ghana. He indicated that the areas discussed would be given the necessary consideration through the appropriate channels.

The visit provided an opportunity for both sides to reaffirm their commitment to strengthening bilateral defence cooperation and exploring mutually beneficial initiatives.
