A team from the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC), led by Professor Yesuenyeagbe Atsu Kwabla Fiagbe, has assessed the Ghana Air Force Aviation College’s (GHAFAC) readiness to offer Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes under the National Defence University.

The assessment, which concluded on Monday, 14 September 2026, formed part of efforts to evaluate the College’s academic, infrastructural and institutional preparedness to offer HND qualifications in nine programmes.

The team was received by the Commanding Officer of GHAFAC, Wing Commander Samuel Oteng Frimpong, who welcomed the delegation and reaffirmed the College’s commitment to meeting the required standards for tertiary-level education and training.

As part of the assessment, the GTEC team toured various facilities at the College to inspect its infrastructure, teaching and learning environment, as well as other resources required to support the proposed programmes.

The team also engaged officials of the College on its academic structures, training capabilities and institutional arrangements to gain further insight into its preparedness to meet the requirements for the proposed HND programmes.

The assessment is expected to provide GTEC with the necessary information to determine GHAFAC’s readiness to offer the programmes. The initiative, when approved, would further strengthen the College’s capacity to provide professional aviation and technical education and enhance the academic recognition of its training programmes.
