The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Vice Marshal Eric Agyen-Frempong hosted the Zambian Defence Attaché, Colonel Brian Kandiwa Moyo at the Air Force Headquarters on Wednesday 16 September 2026.

The visit served as an official introduction of Colonel Moyo and provided an opportunity to reinforce the long-standing military cooperation between Ghana and Zambia.

Welcoming the new Attaché, Air Vice Marshal Agyen-Frempong extended his warmest congratulations on Colonel Moyo's appointment. He commended the outgoing Defence Attaché, Brigadier General Wendaogyo, for his outstanding five-year tenure, noting that his dedication significantly strengthened defence cooperation between the two-armed forces.

During the meeting, the CAS highlighted the ongoing strategic priorities of the Ghana Air Force such as efforts to build a highly capable, responsive and future-ready force through targeted infrastructure development and capacity-building.

He specifically noted existing operational partnerships, such as the Mi-17 simulator training programmes, as key examples of successful military collaboration.

The CAS further acknowledged the critical role of the Ghana Air Force Command and Staff College (GAFCSC) in training and developing Zambian military personnel. He reaffirmed the Ghana Air Force's openness to expanding bilateral training exchanges to further enhance professional competence across both nations.

Outlining key areas for future collaboration, the CAS proposed exploring joint military exercises, enhanced technical and logistical cooperation and active information sharing regarding air domain awareness and disaster response capabilities.

In closing, Air Vice Marshal Agyen-Frempong proposed the establishment of regular follow-up engagements between both headquarters and wished Colonel Moyo a successful and impactful tenure in Ghana.
