WOMEN ADVISED TO UNDERTAKE REGULAR SCREENING TO PREVENT CERVICAL CANCER

A team from the Duala Medical Centre in conjunction with the Air Wives Organisation (AWO) held an event aimed at creating awareness on cervical cancer. The gathering which took place on Saturday 3 February 2024 at the Air Force Base Accra, served as a platform for informative discussions and educational opportunities aimed at equipping attendees with the necessary knowledge to address cervical cancer.

 

 

In a lecture delivered by Dr Ewura Adjoa Ahimah Nunoo, the Medical Officer in charge of the Duala Medical Centre, she highlighted the importance of understanding and preventing cervical cancer. Dr Nunoo's engaging presentation also emphasised on the significance of regular screenings, early detection, and the role of vaccination in preventing cervical cancer.

 

 

She further stated that the Duala Medical Centre's initiative to raise awareness about cervical cancer was an important step in addressing women's health issues within the military and the broader community.

 

 

After the insightful lecture, the representatives of AWO expressed their gratitude to the Medical team of the Duala Medical Centre for the lectures delivered. Adding that, the Duala Medical Centre's efforts to address women's health concerns through these events were commendable.

 

 

The medical team however encouraged the attendees to visit the Duala and Arakan medical centres in the barracks for cervical cancer screening at a subsidies amount.
