The Master Air Warrant Officer (MAWO), Master Warrant Officer (MWO) Amponsem Edward, has interacted with personnel of Air Force Base Tamale during his maiden visit on Tuesday, 6 October 2026.

The visit formed part of his  familiarisation tour of the Base and provided an opportunity for the MAWO to engage personnel on matters relating to discipline, professionalism, welfare, operational effectiveness and the general well-being of personnel.

Addressing a durbar of personnel from the Base, MWO Amponsem urged all ranks to uphold the values and traditions of the Ghana Air Force, emphasising the importance of discipline, teamwork, loyalty and dedication to duty.

He further encouraged personnel to maintain high standards of physical fitness and professional conduct while continuously improving their knowledge and skills to meet the changing demands of the Service.

The MAWO also stressed the importance of safety and security awareness, urging personnel to remain vigilant and security-conscious at all times. He encouraged them to report suspicious activities promptly, emphasising that everyone had a role to play in safeguarding the Base and its environs.

On welfare, MWO Amponsem acknowledged accommodation as a longstanding challenge within the Ghana Air Force and disclosed that measures were being put in place by the Air Force Command to construct additional accommodation facilities for personnel.

He further noted that ongoing projects under the Ghana Armed Forces would also provide additional accommodation for Air Force personnel, which, he said, would help ease the pressure on existing facilities.

The MAWO also underscored the importance of cultivating a strong maintenance culture among personnel to ensure the proper upkeep and preservation of Base infrastructure, equipment and other Service property for the benefit of all.

The interaction further provided personnel with the opportunity to raise concerns and share issues affecting their welfare and working conditions. The MAWO assured them that their concerns would receive the necessary attention through the appropriate channels.

The durbar ended with a call on personnel of Air Force Base Tamale to remain committed to their responsibilities and contribute meaningfully towards the achievement of the objectives of the Ghana Air Force.
