INDUCTION RELIGIOUS PARADE AND INAUGURATION OF CHOIR TAKES PLACE AT AIR FORCE BASE TAKORADI

Air Force Base Takoradi has organised its fourth quarter Religious Parade on Friday, 20 October 2023 at the auditorium of the Air Force Recruit Training School under the theme “A New Creation.”

In his address, the Base Commander, Air Force Base Takoradi, Air Commodore Godfried Sarkey Parker seized the opportunity to thank God and personnel of the Base for their support as he marked the first anniversary of his assumption into office.

He said that, as a team, they must embrace challenges, celebrate victories and create memories that would last a lifetime. The Commander entreated the gathering to continue praying for personnel who had physical and psychological challenges and also visit them regularly.

Air Commodore Parker made it known that, with an unwavering commitment to create something beautiful, the Air Force Base Takoradi Choir had been established. He expressed his delight in witnessing an initiative which was dear to him come to fruition.  He then moved to inaugurate the choir into Ministry and together with the invited guests, they robed the members of the choir as the clergy also consecrated the choir.

In the Islamic exhortation, the Garrison Imam, Lieutenant (GN) M Yusif stressed that, the Holy Qur’an admonished every Muslim to relinquish their bad character in search for a good one. The Imam asserted that as long as the earth remained the dwelling of humanity, sin will abound because Allah did not require a perfect human being. He said according to the Quran, whosoever does not sin will be taken out of this earth and replaced by others who will sin and invoke Allah’s forgiveness. He added that as long as one was remorseful of his sins, he will be forgiven of every sin committed.

Delivering the word ministration, Squadron Leader SP Aseleku commended the Military High Command for encouraging religious coexistence and tolerance amongst the military setting. He asked the gathering to make their light shine at every corner they found themselves because God had imbibed in them wisdom, knowledge and the wherewithal to make the world a better place through their actions.

Present at the ceremony were; the Commanding Officer 2BN, Lieutenant Colonel DA Bondah, Officer Commanding, Flying Wing, Wing Commander Alifo, Base Commander, Sekondi Naval Base, Lieutenent Commander Darkwah, OCs of the various wings, Airmen and Defence Civilian Staff.
