FLIGHT COMMANDERS COURSE BEGINS  AT AFLA

The Air Force Leadership Academy (AFLA) has held an opening ceremony for 20 participants of the Flight Commanders Course on Wednesday 19 June 2024 at the Air Force Base, Tamale.

 

 

Aimed at preparing officers for staff and leadership appointments, the course will provide interim orientation training in basic staff course, Service specific core competency training and improving officers overall professional knowledge.

 

 


Delivering his opening address, the Commander Air Force Training Command (AFTRAC), Air Commodore Mathias Awuah, congratulated the participants for their nominations on the course. He stated that
the mission of AFTRAC is to train airmen at all levels to excellence in leadership roles.

 

 

 

Air Commodore Matthias Awuah mentioned that, he was excited for the commencement of the first course in AFLA.

 

 

He urged the participants to take advantage of the serenity of Tamale to concentrate on the course as it would prepare them for their Junior Division Course.

 


The 5
-week course would encompass topics such as service writing, communication skills and principles of public speaking, air estimate process, tactical combat casualty care, land and maritime operations and air operations.

 

 

Present at the opening ceremony was the Garrison and Air Force Base Tamale Commander, Air Commodore Joshua Mensah-, Members of the Directing Staff and Officers.
