AFHQ PERSONNEL LECTURED ON CYBERSECURITY

Lieutenant Colonel Samuel Padi Obuadey from the Directorate of Information Technology of the Ghana Armed Forces delivered an enlightening lecture at the Air Force headquarters padre hour to mark the Cybersecurity Awareness Month on Thursday 9 November 2023.

 

 

The lecture held under the theme "Promoting a Culture of Digital Safety" aimed to equip Air Force personnel with the knowledge and skills to navigate the ever-evolving landscape of online security threats.

 

 

Cybersecurity Awareness Month, celebrated globally each October, serves as a reminder for individuals and organizations to respond effectively to cyber threats. It encourages everyone to take preventive measures to safeguard sensitive information and foster safer digital practices. This year's theme emphasises the significance of cultivating a culture of digital safety in both professional and personal spheres.

 

 

Lieutenant Colonel SP Obuadey underscored the growing ramifications of cyber threats and discussed proactive strategies to mitigate the risks. The lecture also highlighted on the importance of staying updated on the latest technologies and security trends as well as the need for constant vigilance in the face of ever-evolving cyber threats.

 

 

Attendees expressed their appreciation for the enlightening lecture, which provided them with practical insights and tangible actions to enhance their digital safety.

 

The Director Air Force Religious Affairs, Colonel Benjamin Godson Kumi-Woode, expressed gratitude and acknowledged the value of such initiatives. He stated that cybersecurity is of paramount importance to the Ghana Air Force, hence the lecture has reaffirmed the commitment to promoting a culture of digital safety.
