GHFAC SHOWCASES GREEN AVIATION INNOVATIONS AT 2025 DSRA
The Research and Development Team of the Ghana Air Force Aviation College (GHFAC), led by Squadron Leader Bright Bismark Agbosege, participated in the 2025 Day of Scientific Renaissance of Africa (DSRA) held at the University of Ghana, Legon, on Friday, 27 June 2025.
The event, held under the theme “Climate Sustainability: Innovate, Safeguard, Prosper,” brought together various institutions to showcase scientific advancements and innovations geared towards environmental preservation and sustainable development.
The Ghana Air Force’s exhibition focused on its core operations and how it has adopted innovative strategies to reduce the environmental impact of aviation activities. Specifically, the team highlighted efforts to optimize flight operations to significantly cut down emissions of carbon dioxide (CO₂) and other greenhouse gases resulting from the use of fossil fuels in aircraft.
To give attendees a comprehensive view of its climate-conscious aviation practices, the GHFAC team presented a range of displays at its exhibition stand, including miniature models of aircraft such as the K8 and Fokker 28, virtual reality flight simulation sets, branded souvenirs, a flight simulator, and an aerodrome model to simulate airport environments.
In addition, photographs showcasing various ongoing initiatives by the Ghana Air Force to reduce emissions and contribute to climate sustainability were displayed.
