Air Force Headquarters has  organised a breast cancer awareness lecture and screening exercise for personnel on Monday, 26 October 2026, to promote early detection, raise awareness of the disease and encourage preventive healthcare practices among personnel.

Delivering the lecture, the team leader and a Public Health Physician Specialist at the Public Health Department of the 37 Military Hospital, Dr Ewura Adjoa Nunoo highlighted breast cancer risk factors, the importance of healthy lifestyle choices and regular screening. She also stressed that detecting the disease early improves treatment and reduces the complications that comes with late diagnosis.

Following the educational session, the medical team conducted a breast cancer screening exercise, providing personnel with the opportunity to access screening services and take proactive steps towards safeguarding their health.

Dr Nuuno indicated that free breast cancer screening would continue at the 37 Military Hospital throughout the month of October, encouraging personnel and members of the public to take advantage of the initiative to know their breast health status and to detect any problem.
