AFB TAM TROOPS ENHANCE WEAPON PROFICIENCY

In line with the vision of the Chief of the Air Staff to build capacity through training, the Air Force Base Tamale (AFB TAM)  organised its bi-annual range exercise at the Daboya Shooting Range from Monday 29 July to Thursday 1 August 2024.

 

 

The range exercise which featured M16 practices and falling plates competition was aimed at enhancing troops proficiency in weapon handling and marksmanship prowess. Prior to the event, weapon training lessons and practical sessions were conducted to prepare troops adequately.

 

 

In his address, the Commander Air Force Base Tamale, Air Commodore Joshua Mensah-Larkai emphasised the importance of continuous range exercises. He mentioned that, regular training was essential for maintaining operational readiness and effectiveness in combat scenarios.

 

 

Air Commodore Mensah-Larkai further encouraged troops to show keen interest and actively participate in future exercises to improve their weapon familiarity for both duties and combat operations.
