6 GARRISON EDUCATION CENTRE COMMENDED FOR SUSTAINED ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE
The 6 Garrison Commander, Air Commodore Nana Adu-Gyamfi, has commended the 6 Garrison Education Centre for its unwavering dedication to duty and the consistently high academic performance of its students. He made these remarks during a familiarisation tour of the Centre on Wednesday, 4 February 2026.

Leading a high-level delegation, Air Commodore Adu-Gyamfi visited the Barwah Barracks Basic School and the Kamina Cluster of Schools. The visit provided an important platform for Command to interact with students, teaching staff, and administrative leadership on the prevailing educational environment within the Garrison.

During the engagement, the Commander was briefed on the Centre’s strategic operations, including student enrolment figures, available resources, and the status of ongoing infrastructural projects. The Garrison Education Officer, Captain Maxwell Kuutoluzie, outlined a number of challenges confronting the schools. He, however, highlighted the commendable support of parents, who have contributed significantly through financial assistance and skilled manual labour to help address these challenges.

A key issue raised during the tour was the urgent need for the establishment of a Garrison Senior High School. Teachers and members of the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) emphasised that a dedicated secondary school within the Garrison would enable Junior High School graduates to continue their education in the same disciplined environment, thereby sustaining the strong academic foundation already established.

In his concluding remarks, Air Commodore Adu-Gyamfi expressed his appreciation to officers, teachers, and staff for their commitment and professionalism. He particularly praised the Centre for its consistently impressive performance in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) over the years, noting that these achievements have been realised despite existing logistical constraints. The Commander assured the Education Centre that plans for the proposed Senior High School are progressing and reaffirmed his commitment to maintaining continuous engagement with the educational community in the months ahead.
