TACAB HOLDS 2023 WASSA

As part of activities to end the year, Tactical Air Command Bui (TACAB) has held its annual West African Soldiers Social Activity (WASSA) at the Bui Power Authority (BPA) Clubhouse on Friday 8 December 2023. 

 

 

WASSA is an event held by Units in the Ghana Armed Forces to bring soldiers and the various stakeholders together to feast, celebrate achievements, reflect on the past year and make future projections.

 

 

On arrival in Bui, the Guest of Honour and Chief Staff Officer at the Air Force Headquarters, Air Commodore (Air Cdre) Eric Yirenkyi and his entourage first paid a courtesy call on the Director Estates of the Bui Power Authority, Mr Maxwell Salifu Wumbilla after which he inspected a quarter guard held in his honour.  

 

 

Later on at a durbar with personnel, Air Cdre Yirenkyi, enumerated on a number of projects and initiatives being implemented to enhance the welfare of Airmen. He also urged personnel to continue to work hard and be disciplined at all times as Command continues to put in place measures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of personnel.

 

 

In his welcome remarks, the Commander TACAB, Air Cdre EK Arneson, stated that the establishment of TACAB was to augment national security objectives for national security development. He also outlined a number of achievements and stated that Command would continue to improve the working condition for personnel at the current location while making plans to develop the new location.

 

 

Air Cdre Arneson expressed his gratitude to the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal (AVM) FAK Bekoe for his leadership and support. He also thanked the immediate past Chief of the Air Staff, AVM Frank Hanson under whose leadership TACAB started deploying in 2021, and the Chief Executive Officer of the Bui Power Authority, Hon Samuel Kofi Dzamesi and his Staff for all their support over the period.

 

 

The Commander also mentioned the Delovely Company Ltd, Cici and Kelvin Engineer Company Ltd, Mr Serebour of Paragon Homes, Tonydollyken Company Ltd, Mr Thomas Kwaku Kpegolo, Kasapreko Company Ltd among several other strategic partners who have supported TACAB in diverse ways.

 

 

Air Cdre Arneson however advised personnel not to rest on their oars but to continue to strive and work hard for the achievement of the set objectives for next year. As part of the WASSA celebrations, a refurbished accommodation block from a dis-used BPA warehouse was commissioned by the Guest of Honour.

 

 

Present at the ceremony were the Deputy Chief Staff Officer logistics, Air Cdre Offei, the District Chief Executive of Banda District, Representing the CEO BPA , Mr Maxwell Salifu Wumbilla, the Jama Kooro (Paramount Chief of Jama Traditional Area), Nnaa Professor Lanjagor Karley II, other traditional leaders, Staff of BPA, Commanders of the various security services, Senior Officers and the Master Air Warrant Officer from the Air Force Headquarters among other distinguished personalities.
