SQUADRON COMMANDERS COURSE COMMENCES IN TAMALE

The Air Force Training Command (AFTRAC) has held an opening ceremony for the Squadron Commanders Course 1/2024 on Friday 9 August 2024 at the Air Force Leadership Academy in Tamale.

 

 

Aimed at enhancing Officers  overall knowledge  and professional competencies, the 4-weeks course has participants drawn from the Air Force Headquarters, Bases and other Units within the Ghana Armed Forces.

 

 

In his welcome remarks, the Commander, Air Force Training Command, Air Commodore Mathias Awuah urged the participants to eschew all forms of apathy and complacency. He said the acquisition of knowledge will enhance their performance in all facets of their life.

 

 

 

Delivering the key note address, the Guest of Honour and 6 Garrison Commander, Air Commodore Joshua Lartei Mensah-Larkai emphasised the objectives of the course. He said the course would provide specific core training  and prepare officers for staff and  leadership appointments.

 

 

He added that topics such  as service writing, air operations, estimate process, leadership skills among others would be highlighted. He advised the participants to embed themselves in the course and put in their maximum best to derive the benefits.

 

 

Air Commodore Mensah -Larkai reiterated the commitment of the Chief of the Air Staff  in building the capacity of personnel through training and thus commended AFTRAC for realising this vision through the successful organisation of various courses.
