The Master Air Warrant Officer (MAWO), Master Warrant Officer (MWO) Amponsem Edward has held his maiden durbar with personnel of the Air Force Headquarters on Friday, 4 September 2026.

The durbar provided an important platform for MWO Amponsem to interact with personnel, outline his mandate and reaffirm his commitment to supporting the welfare, discipline and professional development of airmen as he begins his tenure as Master Air Warrant Officer.

It also signifies the commencement of his familiarisation visits to various units and bases of the Ghana Air Force.

Addressing personnel at the durbar, MWO Amponsem stated that his primary responsibility was to support the successful implementation of the vision of the Chief of the Air Staff while serving as an important link between airmen and the High Command.

He noted that the position also provided him with the opportunity to identify and address issues affecting the welfare of personnel.

On discipline, the MAWO commended personnel for their good conduct and urged them to maintain the high standards expected of members of the Ghana Armed Forces. He cautioned personnel against acts of indiscipline that could tarnish the image and reputation of the Service.

MWO Amponsem further emphasised the importance of neat turnout and smart posture, noting that personal appearance was an essential reflection of professionalism, discipline and operational effectiveness within the Armed Forces.

Touching on health and wellbeing, he encouraged personnel to adopt healthy lifestyles by eating well, undertaking regular medical check-ups and maintaining physical fitness. He stressed that good health was essential for personnel to remain effective in the discharge of their duties.

The durbar climaxed with an interactive session during which the MAWO engaged personnel on various issues. A lecture was also delivered on the overview of the Ghana Armed Forces Battle Dress Uniform (BDU) which provides personnel with additional information and guidance on its appropriate use.
