MALAWIAN DELEGATION VISITS AIR FORCE HEADQUARTERS

A 29-member delegation from the Malawian Defence Force Senior Command and Staff College has paid a courtesy call on the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Vice-Marshal (AVM) Eric Agyen-Frempong, as part of their study tour to Ghana on Tuesday, 7 October 2025, at the Air Force Headquarters (AFHQ).

 

 

The visit formed part of the delegation’s broader study programme aimed at strengthening management collaboration and enhancing efforts to combat transnational organised crime to foster regional security and development.

 

 

In his remarks, the Chief of the Air Staff expressed delight at receiving the delegation and emphasised the importance of continuous knowledge sharing and collaboration between forces to advance security and professional development. He also mentioned his personal experience with some Malawians, highlighting the strong bond of friendship that exists between Ghana and Malawi. 

 

 

As part of the engagement, the Deputy Director of Air Operations, Wing Commander Davis Aboagye   delivered a presentation on “The Role of the Ghana Air Force in Combating Transnational Organised Crime in Regional Security and Development.” The presentation emphasised the impact of transnational organised crime on national security, national strategies and legal instruments, as well as regional and international co-operation mechanisms.

 

 

 

The delegation expressed appreciation for the valuable insights and knowledge shared during the visit. They commended the Ghana Air Force for its strategic approach in combating transnational organised crime and for its continued efforts in promoting regional peace, security, and development.

 

 

The Ghana Air Force and the Malawian delegation exchanged souvenirs to symbolise mutual respect and strengthen bilateral relations between the two forces.
