LATE WOI COMMEY AZIZ-ABDUL LAID TO REST

The late Warrant Officer Class I (WO I) Commey Aziz-Abdul has been laid to rest at the military cemetery, after a church service held at the Church of Pentecost Worship Center, on 12 January 2024 at Burma Camp in Accra. WO I Commey died on 21 November 2023 after a short illness.

 

 

In a tribute read on behalf of the Ghana Air Force, the late Warrant Officer was described as a brave, enthusiastic and professional airman. It stated that throughout his service life, he did not only acquire knowledge but inspired and imparted knowledge to others. His family in a tribute described him as a culinary virtuoso who was committed to culinary excellence and passing on knowledge to future generations.

 

 

During the sermon, the Director Air Force Religious Affairs, Colonel (Col) Benjamin Kumi-Woode, spoke on the theme “Die Empty”. He emphasized the importance of working hard and putting in one’s maximum best in executing any task. Focusing on a bible reading from Ecclesiastes 9:10, Col Kumi-Woode said the legacy of the righteous was a blessing and encouraged the congregation to take inspiration from the legacy of the late WO I Commey.

 

 

Born on 17 July 1973, Warrant Officer Class I Commey Aziz Abdul was recruited into the Ghana Air Force as an Air Force Police after passing out from the Air Force Recruit Training School, Takoradi on 15 October 1995 as part of Recruit Course 1/1995. During his service with the Colours as an airman, he distinguished himself through hard work, discipline and determination, rising through the rank of Aircraftman to Warrant Officer Class I. His kindness and culinary mastery will be dearly missed by everyone.
