The Ghana Air Force Aviation College (GHAFAC) on Friday, 16 October 2026, held a graduation ceremony for 76 Aerospace Engineering Students from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) following their intensive four weeks Aircraft Practical Training Course.

The Deputy Director Self-Sustainment, International Peacekeeping and Support Operations at the General Headquarters, and the Guest of Honour, Wing Commander Karim Abdul Razak commended the trainees for bridging the gap between University theory and high-stakes military aviation operations.
he reaffirmed the Ghana Air Force commitment to developing future aerospace professionals through its partnership and commended the Ghana Air Force Aviation College and the KNUST College of Engineering for their collaboration in providing students with practical exposure to aviation to prepare them for future careers in the industry.

According to him rapid advancements in aerospace technology presented significant opportunities for Ghana and Africa, stressing the importance of equipping young people with the relevant knowledge and practical skills to contribute to the sector's growth.
Wing Commander Karim Abdul Razak also commended the instructors and staff for their dedication to training the participants, and praised the students for maintaining a remarkable level of discipline throughout the programme.

He encouraged students to sustain the standards demonstrated during the training to serve as positive examples to their colleagues on campus. He urged them to regard the training as a foundation for further learning and professional development and further advised they should consider careers with the Ghana Armed Forces, particularly in the engineering and air branches, after completing their studies.

Presenting the course critique on behalf of the class, Ms Sakina Ibrahim Oases commended the College’s management and coordinators for their dedication, patience and flexibility in managing two-year groups simultaneously throughout the three-year training programme.
She further recommended an increasing in practical sessions on aircraft systems, maintenance tools and laboratory equipment to complement classroom instruction. She also appealed an increased hands-on exposure and test-orientation flights to equip students with practical aviation skills and strengthen their readiness for professional duties.

She emphasised that although the graduating class would not directly benefit from the proposed initiative, future students would gain valuable practical experience from the flights.
