IMAGERY ANALYST COURSE UNDERWAY AT AIR FORCE BASE, TAKORADI.

An opening ceremony has been held for Imagery Analyst Course 1/2024 at the Air Force Base, Takoradi on Monday 29 July 2024. The two weeks course has 20 participants drawn from the various Air Force Bases.

Speaking on behalf of the Flying Group Commander, the Commanding Officer, Air Traffic Management Wing, Wing Commander Kwame Alifo, urged the participants to focus on the training to derive the maximum benefits.

He said, the core of imagery analysis was the ability of the analyst to gather timely information, investigate it properly and feed it for use by decision makers in order to safeguard everyone. Wing Commander Alifo also noted the importance of information sharing and networking in imagery analysis.

 

In his speech, the Guest of Honour and Commanding Officer, Engineering Wing, Wing Commander Emmanuel Nkansah Brimpong said digital imagery was more than just interpreting pictures. He explained it was about uncovering critical information, making informed decisions and providing insights that could impact national security. He added that it enhances environmental monitoring, urban development, disaster management response and many other vital areas of modern life.

Wing Commander Brimpong said participants would be taken through the principles and techniques that formed the backbone of imagery analysis. He said that they would gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge tools and software and learn to identify and interpret features and patterns in various types of imagery as well as exploring the diverse applications of these skills in real-world scenarios.

He encouraged participants to take full advantage of the course as well as engage actively with the content, ask questions, collaborate with their peers and immerse themselves in the learning process. Wing Commander Brimpong thanked the Flying Group Commander for her enormous support to the course.

Present at the ceremony were Commanding Officer’s of the various Wings, Officers, Senior Non-Commissioned Officers and Airmen.
