IMAGERY ANALYST COURSE ENDS IN TAKORADI

Imagery Analyst Course 1/24  has ended at the Air Force Base Takoradi on Friday 9 August 2024. The two weeks course drew participants from the various Bases.

 

In her remarks, the  Guest of Honour and Flying Group Commander, Group Captain Selase Yaya Agbenyefia stated that in the past two weeks, trainees had been taken through a rigorous and transformative journey that had improved their skills and equipped them with new techniques in extracting critical information from images.

 

She noted that, participants had learnt to analyse and interpret data to support informed decision making and congratulated the participants for the commitment and dedication exhibited throughout the period of the course.

 

Group Captain Agbenyefia added that the skills developed by participants was not only technically demanding but critically important in the broader context of intelligence gathering, sharing and decision making.

 

 

The Flying Group Commander indicated that the role of the image analyst was important because of their ability to turn raw data into actionable intelligence, spot patterns and anomalies to ensure that  decisions were made in real time with the best possible information.

 

She acknowledged the vital role the image analyst played in the operations of the Ghana Air Force in aiding the institution to anticipate, prepare for and respond to emerging threats.

 

She therefore encouraged them to stay engaged with the ever evolving field of imagery analysis and take into cognisance that, image analysis was not just about technology but the understanding of human behaviour patterns and intents.

 

 

She said the task assigned to participants as image analyst had the power to shape outcomes in significant ways and she was confident that the skills acquired would serve them well if they adapted and continued to grow in this rapidly changing environment.

 

Group Captain Agbenyefia took a moment to thank the instructors and supporting staff for their remarkable contributions to the success of the course.

 

The Course coordinator, Squadron Leader Selma Selby opined that she was immensely proud of the participants for their active participation, insightful questions and collaborative spirit that had made the course a rewarding experience for everyone involved. She said that imagery analysis was a field that continued to evolve, driven by enhancement in technology and an increasing need for detailed and accurate information.

 

Squadron Leader Selby was of the view that the skills and knowledge gained by participants was critical in addressing some of the most pressing challenges they would be faced with.

 

 

She added that the tools and techniques mastered by participants was just the beginning. Therefore the true impact of their analysis would come from their ability to apply the skills in innovative ways to think critically and approach problems with keen analytical mind-set. She also congratulated all participants and commended the stakeholders for their contributions toward the success of the course.

 

Present at the ceremony were the Commanding Officer, Administration Wing, Squadron Leader Mustapha, Senior NCOs and Airmen.
