A graduation ceremony was held for graduands of Drill & Duties and Basic Military Police Course 1/2024 on Friday 14 June 2024 at the Air Force Recruit Training School in Takoradi.

Delivering his speech, the Guest of Honour who is also the Deputy Chief Staff Officer Administration, Air Commodore Frank Kobla Kudoh reiterated the importance Command attaches to the training of Airmen. He noted that the courses had tested the physical prowess, mental acuity and leadership skills of the graduands. He therefore congratulated them for showing good character and dedication to service and further urged them to work in unison to achieve the needed synergy in bringing to fruition, the Chief of the Air Staff’s vision.

The Guest of Honour tasked the graduands to use the virtues acquired during the training to foster teamwork, leadership and comradeship at their various units. He commended the course Officers, instructors and all other stakeholders who had made the purpose of the course achievable.

The Drill & Duties and the Basic Military Police Course was a 13-week course run for selected Non-Commissioned Officers of the Ghana Armed Forces and other participating sister security services in the country. The former was to equip personnel with up-to-date knowledge in drill while the latter was a foundational training programme designed to prepare individuals for roles within military law enforcement units. 

A total of 88 personnel comprising 47 Drill & Duties and 41 Military Police graduated from the Course with recognition given to students who distinguished themselves in the course of the training.

In the Drill & Duties Course, Sergeant Darko Dwumah Daniel received the Master Air Warrant Officer Award for best in Administration while Sergeant Dzemfi Freeman was given the Forces Sergeant Major Award for best in drill.

Sergeant Dauda Abdul-Karim Moses received the Base Commander’s award for being the third best in order of merit while Petty Officer Class II Opoku Maxwell from the Ghana Navy was given the Commander Air Force Training Command’s award for being the second best.

The Chief of the Air Staff’s award went to Sergeant Tawiah Richmond who was adjudged the overall best student in the Drill & Duties course.

In the Basic Military Police Course, Aircraftman Class II Rodney Christopher was given the Provost Marshal Award as the third best while Aircraftman Class II Dzimesah Macbeth received the Commander Air Force Training Command’s award for placing second in the order of merit.

Aircraftman Class II Agyepong Fosuah Francisca won the Chief of the Air Staff’s award for being the Overall Best student in the Military Police Basic course.

Present at the occasion were, the Senior Air Traffic Controller, Air Force Base Takoradi, Group Captain Edward Agana Adongo, Flying Group Commander, Air Force Base Takoradi, Group Captain Selase Yaya Agbenyefia, Commanding Officer, 2 Infantry Battalion, Lieutenant Colonel Daniel Atobrah Bondah, Commanding Officer, Air Force Recruit Training School, Wing Commander Newman Suhuba Naab, the Master Air Warrant Officer, Master Warrant Officer Bawa Abdulai, Officers, Airmen, and Defence Civilian Staff.
