FLIGHT COMMANDERS COURSE COMMENCES AT GHAFAC
Flight Commanders Course 1/2026 has officially commenced at the Ghana Air Force Aviation College (GHAFAC) on Monday, 23 February 2026 in Accra. The course brought together twenty-five (25) participants from the Ghana Air Force, with one (1) officer each drawn from the Ghana Army and the Ghana Navy.

It forms part of ongoing efforts to enhance leadership capacity and operational competence across the Services.

Delivering the welcome address, the Acting Deputy Commander of Air Force Training Command (AFTRAC) and Course Coordinator, Wing Commander Yaw Nsiah-Boakye, explained that the Flight Commanders Course is structured to prepare officers for higher responsibilities. This, he noted, would be done through intensive training in leadership, mission planning, communication, and strategic coordination. He added that the programme underscores the Ghana Air Force’s unwavering commitment to continuous professional development and operational excellence.

Wing Commander Nsiah-Boakye further expressed appreciation to the dignitaries present and warmly welcomed participants, urging them to actively engage in all aspects of the training and take full advantage of the opportunity for professional growth.

In his remarks, the Guest of Honour, Commander Air Force Logistics Command, Air Commodore Samuel Benjamin Offei, stated that he was honoured to open the Flight Commanders Course. He described the course as a significant milestone in the officers’ careers and an important step in strengthening their service to the nation.

He emphasised that the training would enhance their leadership acumen, operational knowledge, and decision-making capabilities, while adequately preparing them for future command and staff responsibilities. Air Commodore Offei encouraged participants to approach the course with dedication and discipline, learn from their mentors, and uphold the core values of honour, integrity, professionalism, and commitment. He also expressed appreciation to the organisers for their efforts and, on behalf of the Chief of the Air Staff, officially declared the course open.

In attendance were the Commanding Officer of GHAFAC, Wing Commander Samuel Oteng Frimpong, the Deputy Director Training at the Air Force Headquarters, Wing Commander Benjamin Okyere and the Deputy Air Secretary, Air Force Headquarters, Wing Commander Dorcas Badu-Yeboah.
