EIGHT OFFICERS DEPART TO SOUTH AFRICA FOR BASIC AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL COURSE

The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), AVM Bekoe has urged eight (8) Officers travelling to South Africa to have their ‘Basic Air Traffic Control Course’ to put in their maximum effort and excel.

 

He further emphasized the significance of this phase in their careers stating that it would broaden their horizon and expertise. “I believe that, the exposure you will gain on this course will enhance your skills and enable you to tackle challenging situations with a global perspective. This will enable you to perform your duties effortlessly in ensuring the safety and efficiency of air travel” he underscored.

 

 

AVM Bekoe made these remarks on Friday 6 October 2023 at the Air Force Headquarters, when he met the eight Air Force Officers embarking on the course overseas.

 

Additionally, the CAS reiterated the need for the Officers to understand that their role extended beyond the military domain. He called upon them to be good ambassadors for their country during their time in South Africa.

 

 

On their part, the Officers expressed their gratitude to the Chief of the Air Staff for the wonderful opportunity to acquire knowledge for their personal growth and professional development.  With an unwavering determination they pledged to stay focused on their studies and become exceptional air traffic controllers.
