
DIRECTOR SUPPLY AND TRANSPORT UNDERTAKES WORKING VISIT TO 2 GARRISON
The Director Supply and Transport of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF), Colonel Harry Keelson, has undertaken his maiden working visit to 2 Garrison in Takoradi from 16 to 17 October 2025.
The two-day visit sought to strengthen collaboration with unit commanders and to obtain a first-hand insight into the logistical operations, constraints, and support requirements of the various formations.
As part of his engagements, Colonel Keelson paid a courtesy call on the Commander, Air Force Base Takoradi, Air Commodore Eric Yirenkyi, who also serves as the 2 Garrison Commander. Welcoming the Director, Air Commodore Yirenkyi congratulated him on his appointment and lauded his proactive steps in addressing the logistics and supply chain challenges within the Armed Forces. He encouraged him to sustain efforts aimed at improving logistics efficiency and enhancing operational effectiveness across the Service.
Colonel Keelson, in his remarks, expressed appreciation for the warm reception and outlined the purpose of his visit. He reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring the timely delivery of logistics support and to facilitating the effective execution of the Supply and Transport mandate within the Ghana Armed Forces.
During the visit, the Director also called on the Flag Officer Commanding (FOC), Western Naval Command, Commodore Samuel Ayelazono. The FOC was briefed on Colonel Keelson’s earlier visit to the Ghana Navy Forward Operating Base (FOB) at Ezinlibo in the Jomoro Municipality, where he toured logistics installations and interacted with personnel to identify measures for improving naval operational support in the area.
Additionally, Colonel Keelson paid a courtesy call on the Commanding Officer (CO) of the 2 Infantry Battalion, Lieutenant Colonel Philip Tetteh Nartey, at Myohaung Barracks in Apremdo. Discussions focused on the unit’s logistics needs, maintenance support, and potential areas of collaboration to enhance operational readiness.
The visit concluded with an all-ranks durbar with personnel of the 2 Supply Depot. Colonel Keelson used the opportunity to interact with troops, commend their dedication, and encourage open dialogue on challenges affecting logistics operations.
