CATERING TRAINING HELD FOR AIR FORCE BASE TAKORADI COOK PERSONNEL

The Catering Flight Section of the Air Force Base Takoradi on Tuesday 16 July 2024 completed a 4-week catering training programme for 12 Airmen. The programme was aimed at equipping the participants with basic cooking skills required for future catering courses. 

 

 

 

In her remarks, the Flying Group Commander, Group Captain Selase Y Agbenyefia congratulated the participants for completing the programme. She urged them to continue to seek knowledge in the culinary field by learning the preparation of different cuisines. Adding that, it was also important to gain knowledge in food nutrition to enhance the overall health benefit to the consumer.

 

 

 

Group Captain Agbenyefia commended the instructors and supervisors for the sacrifices in moulding the Airmen and also expressed appreciation to all stakeholders for making the programme a success.

 

 

 

Commanding Officer, Air Force Recruit Training School, Wing Commander Newman Suhuba Naab praised the supervisors and participants for exhibiting great works. He advised them to be innovative, disciplined and adhere to good hygienic practices in food preparation.

 

 

The In Charge of the Catering Flight, WOI Agomina Simon in his welcome address stated that the practical session was a journey of culinary exploration and craftsmanship. He said the training programme was an avenue to teach and empower untrained cooks while serving as a refresher course for experienced cooks. WOI Agomina thanked the Flying Group Commander and her Staff Officers for their support.

 

 

Some of the dishes displayed at the closing ceremony included jollof rice, plain rice, Ghanaian salad, Grilled tilapia, banku, shito, chili sauce, fufu and chevron light soup.
