The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Vice Marshal (AVM) Frederick Asare Kwasi Bekoe held his end of year durbar with personnel of the Air Force Headquarters (AFHQ) on Wednesday 20 December 2023 at the forecourt of the Air Force headquarters.

During the durbar, AVM Bekoe reminded personnel of the mission and vision of transforming the Air Force into a SMART and effective Service capable of providing efficient air power to meet national security objectives. He also shed more light on measures being put in place to increase the existing platforms, upgrading the capabilities of Airmen through courses and the steady construction of infrastructure projects across the Bases.

AVM Bekoe commended personnel for their dedication and commitment throughout the year and added that their teamwork and discipline over the period has contributed to the success of the Air Force.

On the issue of the welfare of personnel, the CAS acknowledged the challenge of acute accommodation problem within the barracks and assured them of the barracks regeneration projects and other infrastructure projects aimed at tackling the housing deficit.

In addition, AVM Bekoe advised personnel to maintain the high standards of discipline, professionalism and commitment in upholding the reputation of the Ghana Air Force.

Awards were presented to personnel who performed exceptionally within the year. The Best Airman of the Operations Branch went to Flight Sergeant Attipoe Jacob, who received a citation and a Nasco Gas Cooker. The Best Engineering Branch Airman went to Warrant Officer Class I Kempston Mawusi Tengey and the Best Airman for the Supply Branch went to Flight Sergeant Mohammed Dauda, who both received a citation and a Nasco gas cooker respectively.

Mr Gabriel Klu was pronounced the Best Defence Civilian Staff and was also presented a citation and a Nasco gas cooker.

Corporal Ghaisey Graham Anthony was adjudged the overall Best Airman and the Best Airman for the Administrative Branch and he took home a Citation, Nasco Refrigerator and a Nasco gas cooker.
