BOPP PLC DONATES FARM EQUIPMENT TO AIR FORCE BASE TAKORADI

The Benso Oil Palm Plantation PLC (BOPP) has donated farm equipment to the Air Force Base Takoradi on Monday 12 January 2026 at the Base Headquarters.

 

The donation consisted two knapsack sprayers, twelve machetes, five pairs of farm boots, two wheelbarrows, and several agrochemical products. The company also plans to procure a brand-new tricycle to expedite work at the Base's oil palm plantation.

 

 

Receiving the items on behalf of the Base, the Base Commander, Air Commodore Eric Yirenkyi, acknowledged the long-standing working relationship between the Base and BOPP.

 

He expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the leadership of BOPP for the donation and commended the company's management for maintaining its faith in the military over the years. He also advocated for continued collaboration between the two institutions in the area of agriculture, amongst others.

 

In his remarks, the Managing Director of the Out Purchase Fruits (OPF) Division of BOPP, Mr Gordon Yeboah Assan, said that BOPP provided technical service as well as advice in relation to oil palm and also purchased oil palm fruits from the Base for processing.

 

He noted that it was based on the established relationship that had given rise to the annual donation of farm equipment to the Base. He thanked the Commander for his hospitality and pledged a long-lasting partnership with the Base.

 

Witnessing the presentation were the Commanding Officer Air Traffic Management Wing, Wing Commander Clara Oduro-Gyamfi, Commanding Officer Administration Wing, Wing Commander Abdul Aziz Sherif Mustapha, Commanding Officer Engineering Wing, Squadron Leader Anthony Kofi Jim-Fugar, Officers and Airmen.
