The Air Wives Organisation (AWO), in collaboration with MTN Ghana, is rallying support for the Black Stars by presenting branded T-shirts and organising a FIFA World Cup Watch Party and Mini Bazaar at the Air Force Market from Thursday, 11 June to Sunday, 19 July 2026.

The presentation of the branded T-shirts to members of the Military High Command commenced on Wednesday, 17 June 2026 when the delegation paid courtesy calls on the Chief of Staff at the General Headquarters, Air Vice Marshal Joshua Lartei Mensah-Larkai, and the Chief of the Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Godwin Livinus Bessing.

At the Air Force Headquarters, the delegation was received by the Chief Staff Officer, Air Commodore Sophia Adzo Jiagge, who received the branded T-shirt on behalf of the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Eric Agyen-Frempong. Earlier, the delegation had also presented a T-shirt to the Commander of Air Force Base Accra, Air Commodore Elvis King.

The delegation later paid a courtesy call and presented a branded T-shirt to the Chief of the Army Staff, Major General Lawrence Kwaku Gbetanu, on Thursday, 18 June 2026, at the Army Headquarters. The presentation is expected to culminate in a donation to the Chief of the Defence Staff, Lieutenant General William Agyapong, at a later date.

The Vice President of AWO, Mrs Shiela Amoatey Mensah, who led the delegation, expressed appreciation to the Ghana Armed Forces for its continuous support to the Organisation and its welfare initiatives.

She explained that the presentations formed part of activities aimed at promoting unity, camaraderie and excitement surrounding the FIFA World Cup, which concludes on 19 July 2026. According to her, the Watch Party and Mini Bazaar, organised in collaboration with MTN Ghana, offers football enthusiasts, service personnel, families and the general public an opportunity to watch World Cup matches on a giant screen, enjoy live band performances and patronise a variety of products and services in a vibrant and family-friendly atmosphere.

Mrs Amoatey Mensah further noted that the branded T-shirts were intended not only to create visibility for the event but also to encourage collective participation and rally support for Ghana's national football team, the Black Stars.

She reaffirmed AWO's commitment to enhancing welfare and promoting unity through impactful social programmes, stressing that "shared moments and collective support remain vital in building a stronger military family."

Members of the Military High Command expressed appreciation to AWO for the thoughtful gesture and commended the Organisation for its continued efforts to promote welfare and strengthen social bonds within the military community.

They further encouraged personnel to actively participate in the Watch Party and Mini Bazaar and take advantage of the opportunity to foster stronger social connections while cheering the Black Stars to victory.
