AWO CLIMAXES BAZAAR WITH DONATION AND SECURITY TALK

A total of 25 widows in Burma Camp have received hampers from executives of the Air Wives Organisation (AWO) at the closing ceremony of the Christmas Street Bazaar held at the Air Force market on Sunday 17 December 2023.

The widows’ donation which started as an initiative by the Air Force Magajia, Mrs Sarah Sorkpor has received support from Command and benevolent donors and has since been of great benefit to a number of widows within the barracks.

Speaking at the event, the Magajia mentioned that, the kind gesture was aimed at putting smiles on the faces of people who have lost their spouses. It was also to demonstrate love, care and support for widows.

Mrs Sorkpor used the opportunity to thank Command, Patron of AWO Mrs Rosette Bekoe and benevolent persons for their immense contribution in ensuring the success of the event.

She however made an appeal to other philanthropists and well wishers to extend their helping hand to support the initiative in order to reach out to more benefactors in the subsequent editions.

As part of the closing ceremony, the Gender Advisor, Group Captain TA Agornyo and Deputy Director Air Intelligence, Wing Commander (Wg Cdr) Mark Kizito Adelibam from the Air Force Headquarters delivered lectures on safety and personal security.

Participants were advised to be extra cautious of their safety and security during the festive season and beyond by adhering to some security protocols such as the use of passwords to prevent unauthorised persons from accessing their personal files.
