AIR FORCE DELEGATION VISIT FAMILY OF THE LATE AIR CDRE GS PARKER

A delegation from the Ghana Air Force led by the Commander, Air Force Base Accra, Air Commodore (Air Cdre) Eric Agyen-Frempong have paid a visit to the family of the late Commander, Air Force Base Takoradi, Air Cdre GS Parker on Thursday 30 November 2023.

 

 

The visit was to formally inform the family about the demise of their beloved kinsman which is in accordance with military tradition that the next of kin and family of a deceased soldier must be duly notified.

 

 

On arrival, the delegation was welcomed by a gathering consisting the Paramount Chief of the Prampram Traditional Area, Nene Tetteh Wakah III, the Deputy Family Head of Aklama-We, Mr David Quarshie Quarcopome, some Elders and a host of other family members.

 

 

Addressing the solemn gathering, Air Cdre Agyen-Frempong highlighted some of the unique qualities exhibited by the late Senior Officer whilst alive and was confident that he was currently resting in the bosom of the Almighty.

 

 

He assured the bereaved family that, the Military High Command stands in readiness to give the late Base Commander a befitting burial.  Furthermore, the military taking into account the late Base Commander’s status as a royal, is willing to assist the family in all the necessary preparations to bid him farewell.

 

 

On his part, Nene Tetteh Wakah III expressed his profound gratitude to the Military High Command for the visit and also the assistance offered. He added that, the family would ensure an effective collaboration towards the successful funeral rites of the late Commander.

 

 

 

The delegation also made a presentation of some items to the family to assist in the funeral preparations.

 

 

Some members of the delegation were, the Chief Staff Officer, Air Force Headquarters, Air Commodore Eric Yirenkyi, Deputy Chief Staff Officer Administration, Air Commodore FK Kudoh, Ghana’s Defence Attaché to Abuja, Commodore Godwin Livinus Bessing, Director Air Force Religious Affairs, Colonel Benjamin Kumi-Woode, Master Air Warrant Officer, MWO Bawa Abdulai and some personnel from the Air Force Headquarters.
