AIR FORCE BASE TAMALE OUTDOORS CORPS OF DRUMS

The Air Force Base Tamale has out doored and dedicated a corps of drums during an Induction Religious Service held on Sunday 16 June 2024 at the Base.

 

In his address, the Base Commander, Air Commodore Joshua Mensah-Larkai thanked the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS) for his support to the Base in the establishment of the corps of drums. He added that the CAS was instrumental in the acquisition of the musical instruments and also the approval of band personnel to be attached to the Base.

 

 

Air Cdre Mensah-Larkai added that bands play a pivotal role in fostering good civil-military relations with their performances at public events thereby carving a positive image for the Ghana Armed Forces.  Regimentally the Band play key roles during military parades and ceremonies. He therefore encouraged the attached personnel to be proud pioneers of this historic move.

 


The set of instruments include, 6 trumpets, 2 trombone, 1 clarinet, 2 euphoniums, 1 base drum, 3 side drums, 1 cymbal and 1 Mace. A total of 15 personnel have been attached to form the nucleus of the corps of drums.
