AIR FORCE BASE TAMALE ORGANISES HEALTH TALK AND MEDICAL SCREENING

As part of the efforts of Command to enhance the health and general welfare of personnel, a health talk and medical screening exercise was organised for All Ranks and their families at the Air Force Base Tamale.

 

 

The exercise which took place on Thursday, 21 March 2024 was initiated by the Base Commander and supported by medical personnel undergoing their Regimental Officer Training (ROT) at the Base.

 

 

 

Personnel were educated and screened on some common non-communicable diseases and medical conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, cancers and substance abuse with emphasis on cervical and prostate cancer screening.

 

 

 

The Base Commander, Air Commodore Joshua Lartei Mensah-Larkai in his welcome address emphasised on the importance of good health. He reiterated the need for all to maintain healthy lifestyles and undertake regular medical checkups as early prevention and early detection are paramount in saving lives.

 

 

The exercise was supported by the MDS Lancet Laboratories, Social Society of Ghana (SOS Children's Village), Baseline Pharmacy, Tobinco Pharmaceuticals, Unichem Pharmaceuticals, Air Borne Force Medical Reception Station (ABF MRS) and the Tamale Teaching Hospital (TTH).
