AIR FORCE BASE TAKORADI MARKS 2024 EDITION OF GREEN GHANA DAY

Air Force Base Takoradi on Friday 7 June 2024 marked the 2024 Green Ghana Day Project. This is an initiative of the President and Commander in Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo to champion a greener future and sustainable environment. 

 

 

Representing the Commander Flying Group, the Commanding Officer of the Engineering Wing, Wing Commander Emmanuel Nkansa Bimpong highlighted the importance of trees. He charged the gathering to make it their responsibility to protect the trees in order to protect the environment.

 

 

Wing Commander Bimpong added that, the success of the project and the growth of the trees would go a long way to uplift the image of  the Base.  He commended the government of Ghana for such a bold initiative and expressed a profound gratitude to the Commander for granting him the opportunity to plant the first tree on her behalf.

 

 

Personnel planted 130 trees of varying species at different locations in he Base as part of their quota to the project.

 

Present at the occasion were Officers, Airmen and Defence Civilian Staff.
