Air Force Base Takoradi has inducted Senior Warrant Officer Class Two (SWOII) Geni Semenyo Emelda as the Acting Base Warrant Officer (BWO) during a brief ceremony held at the Base Headquarters on Thursday, 6 August 2026.

The induction marked the formal assumption of duty by SWOII Geni Semenyo as the Acting Base Warrant Officer. In her new appointment, she will serve as the principal advisor to the Base Commander on matters relating to discipline, regimentation, military customs and traditions, and the welfare of airmen and airwomen. She is also expected to promote professionalism, cohesion and operational readiness across the Base.

In his remarks, the Base Commander, Air Force Base Takoradi, Air Commodore Eric Yirenkyi, congratulated the newly inducted Acting Base Warrant Officer and expressed confidence in her ability to provide exemplary leadership to personnel. He described her appointment as a testament to her exemplary military service, wealth of experience and unwavering commitment to discipline and military excellence.

Air Commodore Yirenkyi noted that the Base Warrant Officer occupied a critical leadership position as the Commander's principal advisor on matters concerning discipline, regimentation, customs and traditions, and the welfare of Airmen and Airwomen. He urged SWOII Geni Semenyo to lead by example and remain steadfast in promoting professionalism, unity and operational effectiveness throughout the Base.

SWOII Geni Semenyo expressed profound gratitude to the Chief of the Air Staff and the Base Commander for the confidence reposed in her. She pledged to uphold the highest standards of discipline and professionalism while working closely with Officers, Warrant Officers, Senior Non-Commissioned Officers, Airmen and Airwomen to strengthen regimentation, foster unity and enhance the operational effectiveness of Air Force Base Takoradi.

In a related development, the Base also honoured its outgoing Chief Clerk, SWOII Abasontey-Suzzikle Mariam, who has been posted to another unit. During the ceremony, Air Commodore Eric Yirenkyi presented her with a citation in recognition of her dedicated and meritorious service to the Base.

The Base Commander commended SWOII Abasontey-Suzzikle Mariam for her unwavering commitment to duty, noting that her leadership, professionalism and tireless efforts had contributed significantly to the efficient administration of the Base. He wished her continued success, good health and God's abundant blessings as she embarks on the next chapter of her military career.
