AIR FORCE BASE TAKORADI HOLDS END OF YEAR DURBAR

Air Force Base Takoradi has held its end of year durbar on Friday 15 December 2023 at the auditorium of the Air Force Recruits Training School in Takoradi.

 

 

The Acting Base Commander, Group Captain Selase Agbenyefia conveyed a Commendation from the Chief of the Defence Staff, Vice Admiral Seth Amoama, to personnel of the Air Force Base Takoradi for their support and hospitality during a conference organised by the Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana.

 

 

She also enumerated on a number of on-going projects at the Base which included, the establishment of a poultry farm by the erstwhile Base Commander, laying of underground pipe lines to address the perennial water shortage, renovation of offices at the Base Headquarters, expansion of the oil palm plantation, revamping of gymnasium and orthopaedic centre, upgrading of lighting systems among others.

 

 

Group Captain Agbenyefia also commended personnel for their hard work and dedication to duty and urged them to continue to uphold the highest standards. She also advised personnel to adhere to traffic regulations to avoid accidents and desist from having altercations with the civil police.

 

 

The Acting Base Commander also thanked High Command, all stakeholders and companies who supported the end of year activities especially, Anglo Gold Ashanti (Iduapriem Mines) for supporting the best Airmen awards.

 

 

Awards were given to personnel who distinguished themselves in the course of the year. The best Defence Civilian Staff award went to Madam Joana Ama Ampah. The best Airman Administration Wing was awarded to Flight Sergeant Amaning Rebecca while Corporal Tetteh Christian won the award for the best Airman Flying Wing. The best Airman Supply Wing went to Flight Sergeant Asare Michael.

 

 

Leading Aircraftman Atoma Yema Raphael won the award for the best Airman Engineering Wing and was adjudged the overall best Airman for the year 2023.
