AIR FORCE BASE TAKORADI GETS NEW STUDIO ACCOMMODATION

A twenty-four-single-room Studio Accommodation Block has been officially commissioned at the Air Force Base Takoradi on Thursday, 10 April 2025.

 

 

The accommodation which was commissioned by the immediate past Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Frederick Asare Kwasi Bekoe (Rtd) had been dedicated to improve the living standard of personnel at the Base.

 

 

In his address, the Guest of Honour, Air Marshal Bekoe (Rtd) noted that he felt extremely proud to be given the opportunity to witness the commissioning ceremony, adding that, the studio accommodation represented the unwavering commitment by the Air Force to improve the welfare and well- being of service personnel. He said the commissioning of the edifice marked a significant milestone in efforts to create a smart Air Force capable of defending the country’s territorial airspace against threats and delivering air power effectively and efficiently.

 

He noted that the facility was not just a building but, an investment of the professionalism and well-being of the Ghana Air Force personnel. He averred that the facility was designed to provide occupants with a decent space for rest while fostering mental well-being and urged personnel to exhibit good maintenance culture so that the facility could serve future generations.

 

 

Air Marshal Bekoe (Rtd) mentioned that, the Ghana Air Force had made considerable strides in achieving its mandate of providing air support to the Ghana Armed Forces. He noted that the Ghana Air Force had also prioritized the welfare of Airmen by equipping them adequately and providing essential privacy, comfort and decent accommodation. He recommended the Chief of the Air Staff Air Vice Marshal Eric Agyen-Frempong and the Base Commander, Air Force Base Takoradi for their dedication of ensuring the successful commissioning of the building.

 

 

He was appreciative of the contractor, project managers and all stakeholders who contributed in various ways to make the commissioning possible. He was certain that the facility would be put to good use and for its intended purpose.

 

 

The Base Commander, Air Force Base Takoradi, Air Commodore Kwabena Kissiedu Manukure Atiemo expressed his deepest appreciation to the immediate past Chief of the Air Staff (CAS) for his visionary leadership and unwavering dedication to improving infrastructure and welfare across the Air Force.

 

 

He urged the young soldiers who would occupy the facililty to strive and uphold the highest standards of discipline, responsibility and respect. He admonished them to take care of the facility and let it reflect their values, power and professionalism. He urged the soldiers to remember that esprit- de-corps was at the heart of their service and so it was imperative for them to take care of each other, their environment and community.

 

The Chief Staff Officer, Air Force Headquarters Accra, Air Commodore Eric Yirenkyi presented a plaque of to the contractor, Mr Dwomo for his hard work and dedication.

 

 

Present at the ceremony were Chief Staff Officer, Air Force Headquarters Accra, Air Commodore Eric Yirenkyi, the Flag Officer Fleet, Commodore Samuel Ayelazono, the Flying Group Commander, Group Captain Selasse Agbenyefia, Commanding Officer, 2 Battalion of Infantry, Lt Col Edmond Nana Nyarko Osae, Senior Officers, Airmen, Traditional Leaders and Defence Civilian Staff.
