AFRICOM COMMANDER VISITS AIR FORCE BASE TAMALE
The Commander, United States Africa Command (AFRICOM), General Dagvin Anderson as part of his official visit to Ghana, has paid a courtesy call on the Base Commander, Air Force Base Tamale, Air Commodore Nana Adu-Gyamfi at the Base Headquarters on Tuesday, 24 February 2026.

The high-level visit served as a strategic effort to solidify bilateral relations and enhance collaborative frameworks for future joint exercises between the Base and AFRICOM.

General Anderson who was accompanied by the Chargé d'affaires of the United States Embassy in Accra, Mr Rolf Olson, was received by the Commander, Air Force Training Command, Air Commodore Richard Danso and honoured with a formal quarter guard. Air Commodore Adu-Gyamfi commended the United States Armed Forces for their consistent contributions to the Garrison, specifically citing their role in joint training, logistics and operational support. He noted that the visit underscores a mutual commitment to strengthening the partnership between the Armed Forces of both countries, ensuring a future of seamless interoperability.

The meeting was attended by the Commanding Officers of the various wings and a delegation of AFRICOM staff officers, focusing on shared security goals and regional stability.
