AFHQ DELEGATION PAYS A VISIT TO AM BEKOE (RTD)

As part of an ongoing initiative to engage and honour senior retired officers of the Ghana Air Force, a delegation from the Air Force Headquarters paid a courtesy call on former Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Frederick Asare Kwasi Bekoe (Rtd), at his residence on Thursday, 28 May 2026.

 

The initiative, by the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Eric Agyen-Frempong, seeks to strengthen the bond between serving and retired personnel, while recognising the invaluable contributions of retired senior officers to the growth and development of the Ghana Air Force.

 

 

The visit also coincided with the birthday of Air Marshal Bekoe (Rtd), providing an opportunity for the delegation to celebrate the occasion and express appreciation for his distinguished service to the nation.

 

 

Leading the delegation, the Deputy Chief Staff Officer (Administration), Air Commodore Sophia Adzo Jiagge, conveyed warm greetings from the Chief of the Air Staff and expressed the Air Force's profound gratitude for Air Marshal Bekoe's immense contributions to the development of the Service and his unwavering commitment to national security during his tenure.

 

 

In response, Air Marshal Bekoe (Rtd) reflected on his years of service and the remarkable transformation of the Ghana Air Force over the years. He underscored the importance of mentorship and encouraged serving personnel to uphold the values of professionalism, excellence, discipline and integrity in the discharge of their duties.

 

 

The visit was marked by warm interactions and fond recollections, as the delegation presented Air Marshal Bekoe (Rtd) with gifts and tokens of appreciation in recognition of his dedicated service and lasting legacy. Birthday wishes were also extended to him in celebration of the special occasion.

 

 

Air Marshal Bekoe (Rtd) expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the Chief of the Air Staff and the delegation for the thoughtful gesture. He noted that such visits play a vital role in fostering enduring relationships within the Air Force family and preserving the rich heritage of the Service.
