AFB TAMALE AIR WIVES RALLY BEHIND CHEF FAILA’S COOK-A-THON

Members of the Air Force Base Tamale, Air Wives Organisation (AWO) have visited Chef Failatu Abdul Razak on Sunday 7 January 2024 at the Modern City Hotel, Tamale where she is currently embarking on a daring culinary endeavour to break the Guinness Book of Record for the longest cooking time (Cook-a-thon).

 

Led by the Magajia, Mrs Acquaye, the visit was aimed at cheering and encouraging Chef Faila on to successfully accomplish her set target. According to the Magajia, the visit also served as a gesture of solidarity and admiration for Faila’s tenacity and endurance exhibited over the couple days.

 

 

“I believe our visit and encouraging words will uplift Faila with a renewed strength to carry on her record-breaking attempt. She being the wife of an Officer of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF), we are here to support one of our own and to reiterate AWO’s support to her endeavour”, Mrs Acquaye added.

 

Chef Faila commenced her cook-a-thon on Monday 1 January 2024 and is expected to cook for a period of ten (10) day which translates to (240 hours). 

 

 

Achieving this feat will mean that Chef Faila stands the chance of surpassing the current Guinness World Record held by Irish Chef Alan Fisher who has 119 hours and 57 minutes to his credit.

 

As at 134 hours, statistics shows that Chef Faila has prepared 119 dishes, dished out 1465 plates and given out 150 plates to orphanages and less privileged.

 

 

Chef Faila is married to an Officer of GAF, Captain Reginald Ofosuhene Adjei. She attended the Business Senior School in Tamale and furthered her education at the University of Development Studies to study Community Development. Chef Faila is the founder and owner of Mickey’s Inn, a continental restaurant in Tamale which she opened in 2017.

 

 

Chef Faila’s cook-a-thon event has received tremendous public appeal with High profile dignitaries and celebrities visiting and sending their well wishes.
