AFB TAKORADI HOLDS FESTIVAL OF NINE LESSONS AND CAROLS 2025
The Air Force Base Takoradi (AFB Tak), in collaboration with the Air Force Regimental Band and the Air Force Base Choir, has held a Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols service at the St. Ignatius Catholic Church on Monday, 15 December 2025.

The service was graced by the Base Commander, Air Commodore Eric Yirenkyi, who also serves as the 2 Garrison Commander. In his Christmas message, he expressed appreciation for the opportunity to fellowship with the congregation. He also described the service as a timely reminder of the enduring values of love, peace, togetherness, and goodwill while noting that these values are central to both the Christmas season and military service.

He encouraged personnel to look to the coming year with optimism and renewed resolve, expressing hope that 2026 would usher in peace for families, progress for the Base, and success in all endeavours, while further strengthening the unity and spirit of cooperation that underpin Air Force Base Takoradi’s tradition of excellence.

The service was climaxed by Squadron Leader SPM Aseleku, who led the congregation in the closing prayer and pronounced the benediction, bringing the spiritually uplifting ceremony to a solemn and meaningful close.

The event brought together officers, airmen and women, and members of the Base community to celebrate the Christmas season through scripture readings, hymns, and choral performances.
