6 GARRISON OBSERVES REMEMBRANCE DAY

The Air Force Base Tamale as part of 6 Garrison on Saturday 11 November 2023 observed this year's Rememberance Day. The Day was marked with a solemn flag hoisting and wreath laying ceremony.

 

 

Remembrance Day is held every year on the 11th day of November at the 11th hour to pay tribute to all veterans, especially those who lost their lives in the course of the two World Wars and other conflicts around the world.

 

 

The Acting Garrison Commander, Base Commander, Air Force Base Tamale, Air Commodore Joshua Mensah-Larkai laid a wreath on behalf of all Security Service personnel in the Region.

 

 

The Northern Regional Minister, Honourable Alhassan Shani Shaibu also laid a wreath on behalf of the Government. Wreaths were also laid by the Regional Chairman of the Veterans Administration Ghana, a representative of the Gulkpe Naa and a representative of the widows on behalf of all veterans, the traditional authorities in Tamale and widows of all veterans respectively.

 

 

The ceremony was witnessed by other Senior Officers in the Garrison, Heads of the various Security Services in the Region and the general public.
