The Base Commander of Air Force Base Tamale and 6 Garrison Commander, Air Commodore Nana Adu-Gyamfi, has donated 100 bags of cement to the 6 Garrison Education Centre to support ongoing infrastructure development within the Garrison’s educational institutions.

The donation, which was made on Monday 27 July 2026 at the Air Force Base Tamale, formed part of the Commander’s parting gesture as he prepares to hand over his responsibilities as Base Commander and 6 Garrison Commander. The intervention is expected to bolster efforts to improve teaching and learning facilities in the barracks.

Presenting the items, Air Commodore Nana Adu-Gyamfi said the donation was inspired by observations he made shortly after assuming office as Garrison Commander. He explained that during familiarisation visits to units and institutions within the Garrison, he was particularly impressed by the self-help projects being undertaken by the schools despite their limited resources.

He noted that the donation was intended to complement those efforts and encourage the Education Centre to continue investing in infrastructure that would enhance the learning environment for military children.

The Garrison Commander reaffirmed his commitment to supporting initiatives aimed at improving the quality of education within the barracks and assured the Education Centre of his readiness to continue assisting whenever the opportunity arose. He also commended teachers across the schools for their dedication, professionalism and unwavering commitment to nurturing future generations, urging them to remain steadfast in their service.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the Education Centre, the 6 Garrison Education Officer, Captain Maxwell Kuutoluzie, expressed profound appreciation to Air Commodore Nana Adu-Gyamfi for what he described as a timely and impactful gesture. He also thanked the Commander for his exemplary leadership and continuous supervision throughout his tenure.

Capt Kuutolizie disclosed that the cement would serve as the foundation for the construction of a six-unit classroom block at Kamina barracks, describing the donation as a significant boost to the project at a critical stage. He added that the support would contribute immensely to expanding educational infrastructure and improving the learning conditions for pupils within the Garrison.
